„Cleaning manual” – tutvustus

This book was written to cover the areas of expertise needed for a profitable cleaning operation. The manual presents information not only on the technical aspects of cleaning, such as cleaning agents, tools, machines, methods and surface materials but also on skills needed for successful customer service. Planning of own work and maintenance of work ability are essential issues discussed in the book. Without the understanding of these factors the cleaner is not able to produce good quality in cleaning work continuously.

Dimensioning of cleaning work has played a remarkable role in the development of cleaning work in Finland. Dimensioning leads to cleaning costs which nowadays concern more and more also cleaners. How to choose the most efficient and environmentally sound cleaning method to satisfy the customer’s expectations, without loading oneself too much, are issues also discussed in this book.

The job of a cleaner is not only cleaning. The auxiliary services give examples how to enlarge the work of a cleaner.

Although this book was originally written to meet the requirements of cleaners and students who study professional cleaning, it will also be of value to supervisors and managers involved in this business. The translation is also a response to the lack of handbooks on professional cleaning written in English.

The translation confronted difficulties in terminology. We hope that this book will promote the development of the common cleaning vocabulary.
